Hello Mr Postman
“To write is human, to receive a letter: Devine!”

There is something just right about a #PostBox being painted Red and that's what I have done today!
My parents very kindly gave me their freestanding cast #Aluminium#postbox which comes complete with an elegant matching stand. The #Victorian postbox features a distinctive horse and rider motif on the front and a lockable access door at the rear with a motif of a Victorian postman making a delivery. ( If only today's post arrived so romantically lol...)
Throughout its life, this particular post box has been painted black, cream and now RED. It has received many important letters over the years from my 1st pen pal Laura Lynn, to birthday cards, school reports and exam results. A letter from President Bill Clinton even graced its presence, so I am delighted that I am now able to bring it with me to my new home! I can't wait to see what it has in store for me in the years ahead.
So, how did I create my 1st #DreamDIY #Upcycle:
Step 1: Get Ready to Paint. Pick a warm, dry day to paint your cast iron pieces. ...
Step 2: Remove Old Finish and Rust. Clean the metal with a vinegar/water solution (50/50) or use water with a mild detergent and a scrub brush or rag to remove dirt and grime. ...
Step 3: Apply Primer. ...
Step 4: Apply Paint. ( I used two coats of paint and there was plenty left over for me to paint our front door. )
For this transformation, I used #Crown Non-Drip Gloss Paint which can be used on wood and metal and can be used for both exterior and interior projects.
Colour: FLAME RED
Retails £15.49
Effects and finish: High gloss finish
I really liked the coverage of the paint and would give it my DreamDIY seal of approval.
Love,
Aislinn xx
