Memory Cake
Ever since I put up the blog post about our wedding, I have had so many questions about our wedding cake! Looking back on our big day I am still overwhelmed at just how beautiful a job, Kathryn from Candytuft Cakes did making our cake. She really is a cake genius and I really believe no one else would have had the creativity to bring my vision to life.
From our first meeting, Kathryn totally got my concept and as wacky as it may have been, she took all my ideas on board and made them into something truly wonderful.
Anyone that knows me, knows just how much I love pictures and that was my starting point when designing our cake. I wanted it to include keys moments from our lives from birth right through to present day. So I guess, you could say it really was a sort of story cake representing our little life journey together.
Kathryn was able to do this so tastefully while including lots of little things that were important to me. Her attention to detail was amazing! The little feet of the cake was made up of the flower/tulip shapes from my engagement ring and the top tier she incorporated the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, the place where we first met. She tied the whole theme together with bows and roses two of my favourite things as well as putting a little robin onto the cake to represent my two grannies who are no longer with us. I know how mad that sounds but I have two little robins in my garden who never leave me and I guess like many Irish people I believe they are my grannies keeping a close eye on me.
I would 100% recommend Candytuft Cakes for any function that you have coming up. I was delighted with how our cake turned out and believe me it tasted even nicer than it looked.
